MAKE SURE AND CHECK ALL THESE LINKS OUT!! Twitter: www.twitter.com and www.twitter.com FaceBook: www.facebook.com Twitpic: twitpic.com Water is the most abundant liquid on Earth. It covers more than 70% of the earth's surface. Including the clouds (which are, of course, also water), it makes our entire planet look blue and white from space. The earth's supply of water is constantly being recycled. It is evaporated from the oceans by the sun and is given off by the forests. The vapor condenses into clouds, which rain out onto the land. The land water runs off into the lakes and rivers, which then run back to the seas, and the cycle is complete. The total amount of water on Earth, in the form of oceans, lakes, rivers, clouds, polar ice, etc. is 1.5 × 1018 (one-and-a-half billion) tons, occupying a total volume of 8.7 million cubic miles. It is impossible to overstate the importance of water to almost every process on Earth, from the life processes of the lowest bacteria to the shaping of continents. Water is the most familiar of all chemical compounds known to humans. It is essential to all living things, plant and animal. We drink it, we wash with it, we play in it and we cook in it. In fact, we ourselves are more than half water. We never see absolutely pure water because it dissolves so many substances. If we want pure water we have to prepare it laboriously by such means as distillation, ion exchange, and reverse osmosis. Moving water even dissolves rock slightly, to ...
An Introduction to Boat Trailers
In the most basic terms, a boat trailer is a wheeled frame made to transport a boat across land by towing it behind any vehicle. The frame could be basic for all small boats, but larger boats may require more multifaceted designs. The boat’s weight, total length, width, center of gravity, engines and many more other factors decides the most excellent boat trailer model. For example, a sail boat requires a special boat trailer because of its deep keel and high winch stand.
A boat trailer might have a single, double or even triple axle, based on its rated weight capacity. While a small boat trailer sports a guide hoist to haul the boat on to the trailer, bigger models have one- or two-speed mechanical winches. Most frames are made of a welded steel manufacture, which features weather proof paint. Lights and axles are totally submersible for launching.
Powerboats are normally purchased with custom trailers particularly for the boat, right down to the matching paint scheme. A boat trailer might also come with custom chrome wheels, electronic brakes, which work in racing bike with the vehicle’s brakes, and as well the other option accessories.
The "bed" of the boat trailer comprises of one or more sets of "bunks" or as well treated by wood planks covered with tough indoor and outdoor material. The bunks are placed lengthwise on either side of the trailer, biased inward. The hull rests alongside these bunks. A boat trailer could be at times with adjustable bunks, but most have motionless bunks. The shape of the hull decides the necessary placement of the bunks.
The boat trailer joins to a car or truck by way of a locking "coupler" placed at the end of the tow bar. The coupler slides down over the ball catch on the vehicle. When the boat trailer is not been used, the coupler could also be fitted with an optional flat lip coupler lock that would protect the boat trailer from theft by making it not possible to drop the coupler on to a ball hitch.
Before towing a boat, make sure that the winch and coupler both have been locked and the boat is now secured. The electrical harness needs to be connected and all lights needs to work properly. Routinely confirm tire pressure and tread wear. Some boat trailers offer a frame-mounted spare tire. For those that do not, this is an alteration worth considering.

What to Look for When Purchasing Boat Tarps
You have just bought a new bass boat, pontoon boat, or speed boat. After you get home from the lake, you will need a way to store it. Perhaps you do not have a garage available just for your boat. You can use boat tarps and store your boats outside. Look for the best heavy duty tarps for the job.
When you purchase tarps, think about getting white tarps. The white poly material will reflect the sun to keep the surfaces of your boat from fading. The sun can also be drying to any leather seats or trim in the boat's interior. White tarps are not only highly reflective; they also look sharp and neat on your boat. Look for tarpaulins with U.V. treatments.
While the sun is drying, weather can sometimes be very wet. You might live in a climate that is often rainy, sometimes snowy, or can be both. In any of these cases, you will need waterproof tarpaulins. Your boat tarps will keep the moisture from soaking cloth seats, if that is what is in your boat.
No matter what kind of boat you have, you will want a waterproof tarp to keep rain out of the floor of the boat. Otherwise, standing water can stain, mildew, and even warp the floor of the boat. Waterproof boat tarps keep the precipitation out.
It is important that the grommets on your tarps be rust-free. If they are not, you will have rust spots and lines on the sides of your boat. These tarp grommets should be fairly close together, about every 18 inches. This allows you to keep the boat covered well so that no wildlife can get under the tarpaulin and destroy your boat's interior.
Try to find tarpaulins that have hems reinforced with poly ropes. This helps you get a good tight cover cinched around your boat. It also makes the tarp more durable. Plus, without the poly ropes the tarpaulins will flap in the wind and pucker from the strength of the tie-downs.
Browse for heavy duty tarps with high mesh count. 14 by 14 mesh count is a good choice. A good poly material, preferably 3-ply, is best for boat tarps because canvas tarps will let in water. The best tarpaulins are rot proof, acid resistant, and mildew resistant.
When you have found suitable tarpaulins for your grownup toys, you will be able to keep them in good shape. You have spent the money to buy the boats that please you. It only makes sense to get heavy duty tarps to cover them and keep them
